Insert the Compass 889 modem into an available USB port on your PC. Windows will detect the new hardware automatically and install a CD-ROM drive that will launch automatically:

Click OK:

Click Next:

Read the license agreement and select the option to accept if you agree to the terms and conditions. Click Next:

The required program files and drivers will now be copied to the PC and Windows will detect additional new hardware. This process may take a few minutes. Once complete, click Finish.
The 3G Watcher connection manager application will launch automatically:

The application will configure itself with the appropriate connection settings for your network operator based on the SIM card inserted into the unit.
Click the Connect button to initiate the connection to the Internet:

To edit or enter connection details manually, click on the Connections icon:

For reference, the settings for the UK operators are as follows:
Vodafone:
APN - internet
Username - web
password - web
O2:
APN - mobile.o2.co.uk
Username - web
Password - web
Orange:
APN - orangeinternet
Username - leave blank
Password - leave blank
T-Mobile:
APN - general.t-mobile.uk
Username - leave blank
Password - leave blank
Three:

Username - leave blank
Password - leave blank
Click Save one finished.
The 3G Watcher application also have an SMS Manager that enables you to compose, read and manage the SMS text messages on your SIM card:
